Your morning affirmations should be your daily prayer for your personal growth, health, and building healthy relationships with other.
Affirmations are prayers. Yes, I just said that. Daily affirmations are prayers that assist in reprogramming the subconscious mind. Affirmations prevent negative self-talk. Every day in a matter of seconds, you can talk yourself out of your own growth.
Frequent negative thoughts can become self-fulling prophecies that lead to never-ending roadblocks. What about if you deliberately do the opposite for your personal development and growth?
Daily morning affirmations create the life you want, build your self-confidence, kick bad habits and ignite your productivity. Affirmations are also great for mental health. If you are overcoming anxiety and depression, they are a great habit to start toward overall awareness and clarity.
How To Use Positive Affirmations
I don’t want to overcomplicate this because it is truly an easy step that can be woven into your morning routine. Identify the area in your life where you would like to see positive change. First, focus on the “what” not the “why” because you want to see things from a new perspective and that requires removing yourself from your emotions. Typically, I am all for the “why”, but when starting out focusing on the why may lead to further rumination. Second, ask yourself these questions:
When do I most frequently have negative self-talk?
What are my weaknesses that I can turn into my strengths?
What failures have I most frequently thought about and use in my negative self-talk?
In one of my most challenging times, what was one characteristic, gift or success that I have had and wish to have more often?
Third, model your positive affirmations after your answers. Remember, these are prayers that you will say to yourself. Once you have written down your affirmations, practicing visualization techniques with them will add the necessary component for subconscious reprogramming. When you are saying your affirmation aloud, visualize them happening in your head. Now, add your affirmations to your morning routine (and night routine). They can be done in the shower, brushing your teeth, while cooking, during your workout and more! It is a very simple, but impactful step for your overall mental health.
Remember, ensure that your goals are intrinsic because your overall personal growth is more important than validation from others.
