The Impact That Spirituality Has on Social Relationships

Relationships thrive on shared values and principles, with spirituality influencing perceptions and accountability in society’s dynamics.

Spirituality and First Impressions

Humans are naturally social and thrive when they have unifying relationships built upon shared values with the constant goal of elevation. In order to be sure that someone is good for you and will be good to you, inquisition and observations occur as a defensive mechanism. The curiosity to want to know what makes someone who they are is innocent and, at times, can be seen as endearing to a person.

When you’re spiritual, there are dynamics at play that have the ability to affect how you are perceived. In other words, society typically places lighter judgements on people who are within the confines of religious principles. Historical exploration, economics and race relations are factors of why this fact exists.

Cyclical history theory posits that history is not linear, but occurs in patterns. The interesting thing about this theory is that it infers infinite possibilities does not exist. Although there are confirming aspects of this theory, there are critical defining moments in history that affirm linearity does in fact happen; a simple explanation of this is technological advancements.

Black spirituality, much like American black culture, is deeply rooted in resilience and liberation. Religion is commonly known for its ability to instill a moral compass by establishing what’s right and wrong; in doing this, it has the ability to create a foundation of inner trust, which fosters a firm identity.

The hash truth is that our world is a lot more spiritual than people would like to think. Religion has spiritual practices within it as well. However, the reality is that spiritual people are held to a different standard of accountability due to its assumed opinions about its originations.

A common saying about relationships is that they end how they began.

If this type of thinking were applied to the aforementioned, then one may unconsciously think that a spiritual person has an identity that is naturally rooted in toughness with the ability to withstand constant pressure. Resilience requires mindfulness and constant grounding in the present moment due to inherent uncertainty. As a consequence, spirituality is perceived as lacking stable plans for the future with expectations of being unreliable due to not wanting to maintain responsibility.

Let me be even more clear, their inquisition or admiration shouldn’t disarm you.
