My Pregnancy Journey + My Birth Story

Thank you so much for coming to check out the pregnancy journey and birth story leading up to one of the biggest milestones in my life! I thought I was recording the first time, but ended up having to re-record this video. So, this is why the concealer on my eyes are creased. Honestly, I did not use any primer because I did not expect to be wearing makeup for that long. I like loving on my son, so I was going to take off the makeup immediately. I am wearing my “Quick Mommy Face” in this video and skipped primmer on my lids (HA!).

After sitting back and watching this video during the editing process, I realized that the added stress I was going through at the time coupled with the fact that I did not have a doula or mid-wife is what contributed to the end result (which you will see what I mean when you watch the video). In no way am I insinuating that anyone is less of a woman for getting an epidural, but speaking from my preference as a mother. Looking back, I feel that I went really far without any assistance, especially with it being my first pregnancy. It was just me, my fiancee and my mind getting me through each contraction. I truly feel BAD ASS for getting that far without medical guidance. I did a lot of research on trusting my body, coping mechanisms and warning signs for complications. Ultimately, the length of days just wore against me.

I am not showing my son’s face in the video. I will be making a video soon to address my reasoning behind this, but my blog post HERE sheds light on it as well.
