Top 5 Breastfeeding Tips (+3 Month Update)

I have been breastfeeding for three months now and have learned so much! If you have any questions about breastfeeding, please visit my Breastfeeding 101: The Basics blog post. In that blog post, I go over the mechanics of breastfeeding, the composition of breastmilk, positions in breast-feeding and more! I will be posting a breastfeeding complications and solutions blog post soon. After experiencing and resolving my complications on my own, I decided to record a video for my top five breastfeeding tips.

In no way am I saying that I have had five different issues and resolved them all with these five different breastfeeding tips. I am more so communicating that, when I am diligent about all of these on the list, the journey is better for me and my son. I am a FTM (first time mom) and I had no idea what I was doing, where to start and etc. So, I did the research, took notes, then prepared myself for that first latch and feeding after birth. I did not add these to the list, but here are two BONUS TIPs: make sure that you have a solid support system and pay attention to your baby’s cues. Although your baby can not speak, your baby communicates when something is not right.

In the video, I also provided a three month update of my journey thus far. Therefore, the video really has more than five tips. I hope these tips help you. If you want to add more or have questions, please leave me a comment below.

How long have you been breastfeeding? How is the journey going for you?
